Individual counselling

Andrew in conversation with a client

I provide Individual counselling to adults who are currently lacking direction and often feel frustrated and depressed. We may know that a change is needed but knowing what to do and how to do it can be difficult. Physically, this leads to increasing exhaustion, anxiousness, confusion and continually feeling stressed out.

I use a client centered approach known as humanistic psychotherapy. This therapeutic approach aims to fully understand the person including one’s sense of self and their motivations. It involves the identification of problematic areas and those of strength and potential. Through a greater understanding of the individual and the root essence of identified problems we develop a practical path forward. This consists of mental and behavioural modifications that promote persistent and sustained positive change.

The result of a successful undertaking of this process can be characterized by a sense of greater meaning, improved relationships, higher energy levels, enhanced motivation and increased confidence and satisfaction. Individual sessions run at a cost of $180. I am a Registered Clinical Counsellor (RCC) (#21093) with the British Columbia Association of Clinical Counsellors (BCACC). Individual sessions are covered by most insurance companies in Canada. Please check with your HR department.
